Richard G. Satin, Managing Partner
About Richard
Richard has extensive experience representing targets and acquirers in mergers and acquisitions; corporate issuers and investors in public and private debt and equity offerings and ongoing securities and regulatory compliance in securities law transactions pursuant to the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934; financial institutions and businesses in the area of commercial lending including single credit facilities, secured and unsecured transactions and senior and subordinated loan financings. His clients range from early emerging growth/early-stage development companies to complex multi-national diversified manufacturers across a broad range of industries, including insurance distribution, healthcare, and technology. Mr. Satin has completed more than 300 transactions with an aggregate value of more than $3 billion dollars.
Prior to founding Satin and Lee Law P.C. , Richard was a partner at a large regional law firm with offices throughout the United States, including serving as the Managing Partner of its New York office. Prior thereto, Richard spent more than 15 years as the Chief Legal Officer for a NASDAQ listed medical device company with responsibilities for all aspects of the company’s legal affairs around the world. Richard also served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer for many of those years as well.
Elliot I. Lee, Partner
About Elliot
Elliot handles a wide variety of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and governance, venture capital and private equity investments, capital markets transactions and securities law compliance and general corporate and business matters.
Elliot focuses a large part of his practice on corporate transactional work with an emphasis on insurance related transactions. Elliot regularly advises agencies and principals in sell and buy side transactions and counsels private equity backed insurance companies in strategic acquisitions and general corporate matters. Elliot also has extensive experience counseling public and private companies in equity and debt financings in the technology, life sciences, consumer goods and financial industries.
Prior to joining Satin and Lee, Elliot spent years working as a corporate attorney with international law firms as well as regional firms located in New York. Elliot is a graduate of Northwestern University and New York University School of Law.
Stephen Simeone, Attorney
About Stephen
Stephen has a wide range of experience in mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate, securities law and other general business and corporate matters.
Stephen works primarily on corporate transactional matters with an emphasis on the insurance and healthcare industries. Stephen’s duties in these types of transactions include conducting due diligence, contract drafting, conducting legal research and advising clients throughout the deal process.
Prior to joining Satin and Lee, Stephen worked in the general counsel’s office of a Fortune 500 Company headquartered in New York where he focused on contract review and regulatory oversight of corporate matters. Stephen also worked in the Nassau County Attorney’s Office where he assisted in municipal transactions. Stephen is a summa cum laude graduate of St. John’s University and a law graduate of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University.
Ashley Popek, Attorney
About Ashley
Ashley focuses her practice on corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and governance with an emphasis on matters within the insurance industry. She advises clients on all aspects related to transactional and general corporate matters, from guiding clients in the sale of their businesses with private equity backed buyers, to drafting and review of commercial contracts.
Prior to joining Satin and Lee, Ashley worked with various Legal Aid organizations where she represented clients on a range of family and criminal matters. During this time, she successfully settled complex divorce suits and negotiated favorable outcomes in criminal cases.
Ashley graduated from Hunter University in New York City where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming College of Law.
Jenna Stoessel, Attorney
About Jenna
Jenna works primarily on corporate transactional matters with an emphasis on the insurance and healthcare industries. She advises clients on all aspects related to transactional and general corporate matters, from guiding clients in the sale of their businesses with private equity backed buyers, to drafting and review of commercial contracts.
Jenna received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Philosophy, cum laude, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2018. Thereafter, she attended the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University where she received her Juris Doctor in 2022. During her time at Hofstra Law, Jenna served as a Research Editor of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel Law Journal.
Prior to joining Satin and Lee, Jenna worked as a Legal Intern at the Hofstra Law Community and Economic Development Clinic, where she assisted not-for-profits, social movement groups and cooperatives on corporate and transactional matters such as start-up facilitation and corporate compliance.
